Guided Meditation
A Few Quiet Minutes of Peace
A gentle meditation for calming a busy mind, easing anxiety and coming back to yourself.
Some days the mind just won’t settle. Thoughts pile up, the to-do list keeps talking, and peace feels like something other people have.
It isn’t. Peace isn’t a place you have to reach or earn. It’s closer than that. Most of the time it’s simply waiting underneath the noise, for a moment quiet enough to notice it.
This meditation gives you that moment. A short, gentle pause to slow your breathing, loosen the tension you’ve been holding, and let your mind grow a little quieter.
When you’re ready, find a comfortable spot, press play and let your shoulders drop. You don’t have to empty your mind. You only have to be here for a few minutes.

What You’ll Experience
Come back to a calmer, steadier version of yourself.
Peace isn’t about switching off your thoughts or pretending everything’s fine. It’s about giving your nervous system a chance to settle, so the noise loses some of its grip and you can breathe a little easier. This short practice is somewhere to return whenever the day gets loud.
Slow the Breath
Let your breathing lengthen and soften, the quickest way to signal calm to your body.
Loosen the Tension
Release the tightness you tend to carry in your shoulders, jaw and chest without noticing.
Quieten the Mind
Give the endless thinking somewhere gentler to rest, even if only for a few minutes.
Feel Steady Again
Return to a calmer baseline you can carry with you back into the rest of your day.
Gentle Reflection
After listening, you might like to sit with these questions.
No need to work through them all. Pick the one that catches you, and if you fancy it, jot down whatever comes.
1. What was I holding in my body before I pressed play, and where do I feel it?
2. When do I feel most at peace, and how often do I actually let myself have it?
3. What’s one small thing I could do today to give my mind a rest?

Sometimes a meditation isn’t the end of the conversation.
Sometimes it’s the start of one. If today’s meditation has left you feeling more open or curious, you might enjoy Book Quote Therapy, my literary companion site where books, poems, quotations and Literary Prescriptions are gathered for different seasons of life.
For this meditation, I’d point you towards these Literary Prescriptions:
Overthinking : for the nights your mind won’t find the off switch.
Anxiety : for when everything feels a size too big.
Stillness : for finding your way back to a slower pace.
All quiet companions for the days you need to feel a little more like yourself.
