Guided Meditation
A Steady Reset for an Overstimulated Body
For the days your body feels flooded, and calm needs to arrive at its own pace rather than on demand.
When you’re overstimulated or emotionally flooded, being told to relax is close to useless. The body doesn’t take instructions. What it does respond to is time, breath and a sense of safety, given gradually.
This is a slow move from agitation back towards balance, with gentle breathing and grounding guidance. Nothing is hurried, and there’s no point you’re meant to have reached by the end of it.
This premium edition adds two quieter layers beneath the music. Subliminal affirmations sitting below the spoken words, and binaural beats to encourage deeper relaxation. So while the meditation supports you consciously, the layer underneath keeps reinforcing safety and steadiness.

One gentle note: there’s no need to set anything down all at once. Return to this whenever the weight builds up again, and let yourself unburden piece by piece, at your own pace.
What You’ll Experience
Settling, at the pace your body decides.
A flooded nervous system doesn’t calm because you’ve decided it should. It calms when it stops receiving signals of threat, which takes a little time and a good deal less effort than most people apply to it. This gives it both.
Come Down Slowly
A gradual move from agitation towards balance, without being rushed.
Breathe Without Effort
Gentle breathing guidance that asks nothing difficult of you.
Two Quiet Layers
Subliminal affirmations and binaural beats working beneath the spoken words.
Supported, Not Managing
Come away feeling held rather than coping.
The affirmations beneath the music
- I am safe in this moment.
- My nervous system settles naturally.
- My body softens with every breath.
- I am supported and steady.
- Calm flows gently through my body.
- I feel grounded and secure.
Gentle Reflection
After listening, you might like to sit with these questions.
No need to answer them all. Choose the one that lands, and be gentle with yourself.
1. What was my body reacting to before I noticed anything?
2. What does calm actually feel like for me, when it arrives?
3. What have I been asking my body to cope with lately?

Sometimes a meditation isn’t the end of the conversation.

Meditation Didn’t Take My Pain Away. It Changed My Relationship With It.
What meditation genuinely does for healing, and what it doesn’t.
Sometimes it’s the start of one. If today’s meditation has left you feeling more open or curious, you might enjoy Book Quote Therapy, my literary companion site where books, poems, quotations and Literary Prescriptions are gathered for different seasons of life.
For this meditation, I’d point you towards these Literary Prescriptions:
Overwhelm : for when there is simply too much of everything.
Stress : for the weeks that ask more than you have.
Burnout : for when the tiredness has gone past sleep.
All gentle companions for the times you need room to breathe again.
